2009 Local Initiative Funding Partners
The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation seeks applications for collaborative community-based projects to be considered for funding via the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Local Initiative Funding Partners (LIFP) program. Through LIFP, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation matches grants made by local funders for projects intended to deliver health-related services to vulnerable populations using new and innovative methods.
Vulnerable populations identified by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in which the Tower Foundation also has an interest include:
- adults with developmental disabilities;
- youth with severe mental illness; and
- youth with substance abuse issues.
The Tower Foundation is interested in acting as a nominating funder for projects that address service delivery issues in the areas of mental health or substance abuse among children and adolescents; and developmental disabilities among adults.
The Tower Foundation is excited by the possibility of working with community organizations and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to bring needed services to the community and to augment the impact of locally-available funds. Guidelines for the 2009 Tower Foundation’s LIFP request for proposals will be available in January 2008.
