Welcome to The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation.

The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation seeks to improve the lives of children and their families by enhancing early childhood and primary education for disadvantaged populations and by supporting programs and services for children and adolescents affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse.

The Tower Foundation has adopted strategic grantmaking, the focused attempt to accomplish specific outcomes, as its primary means of making grants. We continually seek opportunities that will help us achieve our goals.

The Foundation makes grants in four funding categories: Education, Community Mental Health, Prevention and Developmental Disabilities. Each category has its own objective, target population, funding priorities, and grant application dates. Grants are made through annual grant application cycles, requests for proposals, and partnerships with community organizations. For more information, see Grant Guidelines and Special Initiatives.

The geographic areas served are Erie and Niagara Counties in New York State and Essex County east of I-95 and Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts.

New Beginning in 2008, the geographic areas served by the Foundation in Massachusetts will expand to include all of Essex County, and Barnstable and Nantucket Counties.

The Tower Foundation has assets of $63 million and distributes over $2.5 million annually.
